Commissioners
Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District serves approximately 16,300 water customers and 10,100 sewer customers with a population base of approximately 50,000. The District is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners. Commissioners are elected to six-year terms on a rotating schedule by the voters within the District’s boundaries. The current Board of Commissioners includes Thomas C. Harman, President; Robert Brady, Vice President; Mary Shustov, Secretary; Lloyd Warren, Commissioner; and Robert Abbott, Commissioner.
Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District, formerly King County Water District No. 82, is a Class A water system that operates as a municipal corporation under Chapter 57 of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW). The District is located east of Lake Sammamish, approximately 15 miles east of the City of Seattle, approximately 6 miles east of the City of Redmond’s commercial core, and immediately north of the City of Issaquah. The District has been supplying services to its customers for over 60 years.
The District’s service area includes the Sammamish Plateau, with the exception of the northwest corner, and a portion of Union Hill east of 244th Avenue NE. The District is hydraulically divided into two parts: The Plateau Zone, located south of the Redmond-Fall City Road, and the Cascade View Zone, located north of the Redmond-Fall City Road. The Cascade View Zone was formerly the Cascade View Water District, which merged with the Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District in 1995.
The Board of Commissioners holds three regularly scheduled public meetings per month. The meetings are held at 3:00 P.M. at the District office at 1510 - 228th Avenue S.E., Sammamish, Washington. Please call our office at (425) 392-6256 if you would like meeting dates and times or more information.
